History

Russell and Rusty West founded Market Scan in 1988. With their successful track record in dealership management and lease brokering, the Wests had a unique mission for their new company: To develop a fast, accurate and easy-to-use system to help dealerships realize maximum profit and find the best financing options available in the market for every potential deal — regardless of credit or negative equity challenges.

The company's first solution, Lease Prophet, featured the most comprehensive database of new car lease programs in the world. Lease Prophet quickly became the standard by which all lease finance systems were measured.

Most recently, we combined the lease and retail finance databases into the new and used car components, so you can quickly and easily compare lease and purchase programs on one screen.

Over the past 14 years, we have added many new features to the original Market Scan platform. Today, the Market Scan database houses over 190,000 retail and lease programs, including manufacturer and regional programs, and remains the industry leader. To assure that you receive the latest, most accurate information, our database is updated every day with as many as 2 million changes, which are then downloaded to your system every night. This virtually eliminates lender callbacks.

We have added DMS Integration (upload and download) and Networking features to make the system — and its users — more effective and efficient than ever. The DMS Integration package allows you to download your entire inventory so your sales managers can quickly and easily find the best vehicles for your customers, offer lease and retail finance options, structure the deal to fit your buyer's needs, and even have a contract printed from your DMS — all at the touch of a screen, in a matter of minutes. The Networking feature makes it easy to share information at multiple desks within the same dealership, while saving time and ensuring a smooth sales process between your sales managers and F&I department.

In January of 2002, we created a new name for our complete line of products and services, Profitcenter™. We did this to more accurately reflect what our software can do for you — help you make more money.

The Quik Sales Kiosk™ was developed to create a state-of-the-art customer entry point for your dealership allowing you to desk deals faster and improve customer service and satisfaction.

And our support doesn't end with the delivery of your system. All of our customers receive the additional benefits of free training, around-the-clock technical support and local customer service representatives who visit your store on a regular basis. We know that the real payoff of installing a Profitcenter system is realized when your sales managers and F&I team can use the system to its maximum potential.

Today, Market Scan installations number more than 5,000. Our company employs more than 250 professionals to keep us focused on the Wests' original mission of helping dealerships improve profitability and finding the best auto finance options available in the market for their customers. And it's paying off; thanks to the support of our customers, we have been named to the Inc. 500 list of The Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America 4 years running.

In February 2003, we introduced many new features to our product including Sales Force Automation — a prospect and customer information management and follow-up tool — a used vehicle auction database to help you more accurately appraise trade-ins, and one-screen A-B Pencil displays to improve lease penetration.
